WILLIAM GEORGE Obituary

William Devoe George 1925 ~ 2010 Our beloved Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa and friend passed gently into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on April 1, 2010 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. What a joyous reunion on the other side as he was met by his son, Wayne; his mother and a father he never knew; five brothers; a grandson, Kelly; a great granddaughter, Camille and a host of friends.Dad was born October 12, 1925 in Kanosh Utah to Elmer George and Ambernettie Abbott. His dad died when he was just 2. Dad graduated from Millard High and served honorably in World War II. Dad married our Mom and Grandma, Yvonne (Bonnie) Huff on June 5, 1948 in Fillmore Utah and their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple where we became an eternal family. Dad was a contractor by trade and after moving to Magna in 1961 he began working at Hercules until 1977 when he retired for medical reasons. He then worked side by side with his son, Terry every day until one week before he passed away. They were very best friends. He always had a great story to tell to anyone who would listen. He cherished time spent with his family and they were by far his most valued treasure. Dad is survived by his sweetheart of 62 years, Bonnie; daughter, Madelyn (Leland) Ward; son, Terry (Elaine); 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Viewings will be held on Monday, April 5, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W 2700 So, Magna and Tuesday April 6, 2010 from 11-11:45 a.m. at the Magna Stake Center, 3084 S. 8400 W., Magna. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 12 noon at the Magna Stake Center and interment will be at Valley View Memorial Park. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com

Terry, Elaine, and family, Preston and I are so sorry for your loss. It seems no matter the knowledge of the gospel we have, or the understanding that someone has gone to a better place, it still leaves a big hole in us. I know that hole will never be filled here on earth, but I also know that you have wonderful family and friends that will build a bridge over that hole that you may walk where you need to walk and be where you need to be. We love you, Preston and Tara

We miss grandpa so much. We will always cherish the memories we have with him. He always cared so much for his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Grandpa always had good stories to tell and enjoyed sharing his stories with everyone.
Grandpa has taught me so much. He has taught me to serve those I am around, and not expect to be repaid. He has taught me how to work hard. And he taught me to love my family.
I am so grateful I had the honor to live so close to Grandpa so I could learn from him often.
We miss you Grandpa! I am grateful for the knowledge that we will be together again.
