DAVIS WESLEY Obituary

DAVIS, PAUL (BUD) WESLEY JR. March 20, 1922 October 19, 2011 It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of our husband, father, grandfather and uncle. Born and raised in Pasadena, CA., Paul fell in love with the high desert and he and Betty moved to El Mirage, CA. in 1981. Paul was a World War II veteran and served in the South Pacific. He was a member and staunch supporter of I.B.E.W. and believed that unions are important to the workers. He was a master electrician and loved his profession. He served his El Mirage community as Mayor, was in the Chamber of Commerce, helped start the fire department, and also served as a Citizen on Patrol (COP) of Phelan and El Mirage. He was a member of the Municipal Advisory Council (MAC). Paul was a very passionate man about life, his community, family and his politics. He had a great love of all animals and of nature and was willing and eager to help his fellow man. In 1985, following his dreams, he planted 1500 "Last Chance" peach trees on the "Jim Brone Farm" in El Mirage. He was the patriarch and mentor of his family and taught us all that it was important to "smile everyday, laugh (hard) and slow down". He said "you never have to have an enemy". Paul is survived by his wife and best friend, Betty Davis of El Mirage and their two dogs, Phyllis and Little Geri: daughters, Carla Wingate of Chico, CA., Kellene Davis of Winlaw ,B.C., Canada, Lori Davis and husband Keith Linford of Quincy, CA. and son, Grady M .Davis and wife, Tracy Davis of Chico, CA. He had 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held November 12, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the El Mirage Community Center, 1488 Milton Rd., El Mirage,CA. The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations be made to : Community Hospice of Victor Valley, 16147 Kamana Rd., Apple Valley,CA 92307
