ERNESTINA FRANCO Obituary

Ernestina Franco, 89, passed away Sept. 4, 2011 at her home. She was born April 16, 1922 in Momax, Zacatecas, Mexico, and has been a resident of Barstow for 63 years. Ernestina was a homemaker, and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as singing and dancing. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and was a member of the Spanish Choir for 39 years, and was a faithful servant to the Lord. Surviving Ernestina are her husband, Trinidad Franco of Barstow; children, Katherine Johnson of Visalia, CA, Theresa Casey of Apple Valley, Michael Franco of Barstow and Rose Flores of Barstow; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister; and 3 brothers; and many others whose lives she touched. Services for Ernestina will be on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 505 E. Mt. View. Rosary will be at 9 a.m., with the Funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memorial Park, 37067 Irwin Road. Donations in memory of Ernestina can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 505 E. Mt. View, Barstow, CA 92311. Arrangements provided by Mead Mortuary, 760-256-5671.

MY CONDOLENCE TO TRINNY. AND FAMILY. MY NAME IS "CALIXTO VARELA" I KNEW THE FRANCO FAMILY FOR YEARS. AS WE GREW UP. I WENT OFF TO THE ARMY. RETURNED HOME AND LEFT BARSTOW FOR COLLEGE..IN 1949 CAME TO STOCKTON CALIF.AND I KNEW HIS BROTHER "JOE" WHO HAD A LITTLE STORE ON 6 TH STREET.
