Alan Lindsley Obituary

Alan Lindsley

West Des Moines

Alan Eugene Lindsley passed away peacefully on September 21st, 2017 at the age of 68, after a short but brave battle with lung cancer.

Alan was born on June 22nd, 1949 in Des Moines, IA to Lela and Sydney Lindsley. He graduated from North High School in 1967 before attending the University of Iowa. Alan was lucky enough to do what he loved for a living as a photographer.

He was a very proud father of two sons, an avid golfer, and enjoyed gardening and watching as many Iowa Hawkeyes and St. Louis Cardinals games as he could.

Alan will be dearly missed by his two sons, Aaron Lindsley (Amy Kappel) of Clive, Scott Lindsley (Heather) of Des Moines, three grandchildren, Alex, Jayce, and Mikayla, and brother Dennis Lindsley (Johanna) of St. Louis, MO.

He is preceded in heaven by his parents, Sydney and Lela.

I will really miss all of our talks from giving Scott a hard time to talking about your grand-babies. I enjoyed listening to you telling stories of Aaron and Scott growing up especially the funny and embarrassing ones.

Rest In Peace in heaven Alan, and now that you have your angel wings it gives me comfort knowing you will be watching over all of us in the days and years to come.

We love you always
Scott, Heather, Alex, Jayce, Mikayla, and Gizmo ❤❤❤❤❤❤

The Psalmist writes in Psalm 116: 15, "Precious in the sight of the Lord are the death of His godly ones." Praying the family will experience God's comfort & strength as they move through the grieving process......Rick Lewis, a fellow classmate of Alan at DM North High School.
