Barbara Morehouse Obituary
Des Moines
Barbara Jean Morehouse, 72, of Des Moines, passed away on November 5, 2016. Visitation will be Friday, November 11, 2016 from 5-7PM at West Des Moines Christian Church. Funeral service will take place Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10AM with a 1 hour visitation prior to service, also at West Des Moines Christian Church. Graveside services will take place at 3:00PM, following the service, at Hopkins Cemetery in Hopkins, MO. There will be a visitation at Hopkins First Christian Church following graveside services.
Barbara is survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Josie Morehouse of Hopkins, MO and Grace Morehouse of St. Joseph, MO; nieces, Sharon Innis of Platte City, MO, Gayle Hobbs of Kansas City, MO, Kathy Paulsen of Waukesha, WI, and Karen Switzer of Clarinda, IA; nephews, Joe Morehouse of Blair, NE, David Morehouse of Humansville, MO, and Steve Morehouse of New Market, IA. She is also remembered by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding Barbara in death are her parents, Andy and Coryl Morehouse; brothers, Marlin, Jim and Max Morehouse; and nephew, Duane Morehouse.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to West Des Moines Christian Church, the Morehouse Cemetery or a charity of your choice.

Barbara was my Sunday School teacher at the Hopkins, Mo. Christian Church. She was a great teacher for Jr. High girls! I also graduated from North Nodaway High School with her niece, Kathy. I have good memories of those days. My thoughts are with the family.

I met Barb when we both worked at Blue Cross-Blue Shield. We shared the hobby of thimble collecting. Although we didn't see each other often, we always picked up where we had left off. I will forever cherish her friendship.

Barb was a sweet and kind spirit who was always willing to lend a hand. In spite of her health, she would often show up and volunteer simply because she made the commitment. She was also a loyal choir member, always wanting to participate and help where and whenever she could. I will remember her smile, her hugs and her support.
