Altoona

Charles Burton Ver Heul, 87, was born November 28, 1925 near Prairie City, Iowa to Charles and Maggie Ver Heul. He passed away December 3, 2012 at Mitchell Village Care Center.

Charles lived in this area all of his life. He married Patricia Sevier in 1963 and two sons were born: Donald and Charles. He was a Stationary Engineer for Polk County until retirement.

Preceding him in death were his brother, Forrest; sister, Juanita and son, Donald. He is survived by his wife, Patricia and son, Charles.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Hamilton's Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, December 7 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Memorial contributions may be made to Santiago United Methodist Church or Iowa Hospice. On-line condolences may be directed to www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com
