Christine Terhune

La Grange, IL - Christine Ross Terhune, 75, of La Grange IL (formerly Urbandale, IA), passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. Christine was born October 8, 1945 in Des Moines, IA. She was the only child to the late Harold and Christine Leisey. She was raised and educated in Webster City, IA. She later went on to attend Stephens College in Columbia, MO. After graduation, Christine returned to Des Moines where she worked as a bookkeeper at Xerox and later Joseph's Jewelers. In 1980, Christine and the late Ed Terhune, welcomed their only son, Charles. Christine's main passion in life was the collection, preservation and storytelling of antiques. She was a long time member of The Quester's, antique society where she hosted several events in her home and attended many national conventions. Christine also loved the holiday season. She enjoyed decorating, listening to holiday music, hosting parties and viewing the holiday lights around the city. Christine was always up for any kind of performance. From live music, to theater, to movies, Christine loved it all! She enjoyed being a very social person, and was a good friend to many. Christine was also very charitable both in her time and contributions to several groups in the Des Moines area. She was a long time member of her local P.E.O. chapter, providing scholarships to local young women. In the last few years, Christine relocated to the Chicagoland area to be near here son, Charles; daughter-in-law, Sarah and grandson, Charlie. Charlie was Christine's pride and joy and loved spending time with him and watching him grow. Services were privately held. Arrangements entrusted to Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home.
