Colleen Meyers Obituary
Des Moines
Colleen L. Meyers, 84, of Des Moines passed away on December 10, 2015 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Meredith Drive Reformed Church in Des Moines. A visitation will take place on Monday, December 14, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Merle Hay Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Gardens.
Colleen was born in Dallas, Iowa on June 9, 1931. She was retired from the Veterans of Foreign Wars State Headquarters where she was a secretary. Colleen was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary in Beaverdale and was a member of Meredith Drive Reformed Church. She was "Mama Meyers" to hundreds of people.
Colleen is survived by her sons, Jerry (Andrea, Douglas (Lynn), and Randy; brother, Jerry (Tiny) Pack; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ora; son, Steve; brother, Robert, and parents, Clarence and Gladys.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Meredith Drive Reformed Church.
