I met Dan as he and I completed Air Force basic training. Through the years, we spoke occasionally but eventually lost touch. I remember him fondly, and I wish the best for his family during this difficult time...

Dan was a good friend and colleague. I so enjoyed working with him these past 8 years in AmeriCorps NCCC. He was a great leader, who led his campus with honor and integrity. Dan was upbeat and positive in his perspective and demeanor, which resulted in a well-run, happy NCCC campus. We both enjoyed talking about Elvis and other singers, as well as sharing our military "war stories"! Dan will be sorely missed - not only by me, but by all those who knew and worked with him. This is one man who made a real difference during his short time on this earth! I thank God that our paths crossed for these past 8 years. I pray for peace and comfort for his precious family!

Dan Milnes was my Regional Director when I served with NCCC in 2014 and 2015. He was a constant source of inspiration to us all and had nothing but happiness to share. I am still inspired to serve my community and work towards a greater future when I think of my time in AmeriCorps. He was a great motivator and a kind person. I know I will miss his shining personality, along with many others he has inspired throughout all his years.
Rest in Peace.

Our son, Austin , was in Americorp, as a group leader with Dan! When we came for closing ceremonies, Dan was right there to greet us and speak highly of our son. These little things I am sure made Dan the wonderful leader that he was.
Many blessings.
