Douglas Westre Obituary
Rio Linda, CA
Died Nov. 15, 2013 at the age of 75. Doug was born and raised in Iowa. He joined the Navy at the age of 17 and was stationed aboard the carrier, USS Valley Forge. He came to CA in 1962 and worked at McClellan AFB in Sacrameno, CA until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Barb, two sons, Sjon (Dana) of Carson City, NV; Erik (Maryam) of Pleasanton, CA; Five grandchildren; Amy, Alex, Nima, Erin (Shane), Logan, one great grandchild Trent, and his sister Shari Reuvers of Corona, CA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Westre (Bagley), sister Sue Muir (Rippey). Donations can be made in Dougs name to HTSP (www.headtraumasacramento.org) or the American Cancer Society.

Barb and family, I am so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. He was my favorite big brother pest when I was growing up. It was wonderful to meet you even if it was under sad circumstances when Sue died. I so cherish the picture of Shari, I and Doug that was taken that day. My heartfelt sympathy to you all and he will finally have those wings he thought he had as a young man.

So sorry for this loss. Worked alot years with Doug both at McClellan and the Egyptian project. I received a lot of words of wisdom that helped me in my career. Going to miss him.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Doug gave me my start as an IE Tech in the Hydraulics Division in 1986. My parents, Eugene & Clara Littlefield were also acquainted with your family when they lived in Rio Linda. Our thoughts are with you in your time of sorrow.

I met Doug when I first started at McCellan in the hydraulic shop and later when he worked in the planning office. He was a great guy and always willing to help anyone. We shared stories and laughs. Please accept my most sincere condolences he will be in my prayers.
