Des Moines
Eric J. Woolsey Sr. , 61, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014.
Eric was born June 3, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa to Janet Woolsey.
He enjoyed computers and video games. Eric worked at the Plantation Lounge and then went to work at Koch Brothers for 36 years. He was known as being quite the joker to his friends and family. Eric was an avid Star Trek fan, Elks Lodge Member, loved fishing, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
Eric is survived by his wife Martha; children, Eric Woolsey Jr. (Stephanie Ritter), Joseph Woolsey (Katie Leveke), William Woolsey, Elizabeth (Tim) Powers; grandchildren, Amber, Kaleb, Kathrine, and Ellen; Brothers John Woolsey II, and Carl Woolsey; and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his adopted mother, Barb Estey; grandparents, Fred and Ellen Erickson; and great aunt, Elizabeth Erickson.
Services will be held at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with a reception to follow.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Eric.
