EVA E. HOY
Adel
Eva Elizabeth Hoy, 92, passed on to her new life on June 19, 2009, at Sunnybrook of Adel. Services will be 11 a.m., Monday, at the First Christian Church in Adel with burial at Panther Creek Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m., Sunday at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel where family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m., with a prayer service at 6 p.m.
Eva was born June 4, 1917, to Donald and Golda Van Cleave. She graduated from Redfield, worked for Governor Clark and later taught school. On August 27, 1938, she married Galen Hoy and was a homemaker. Together they traveled frequently and wintered in Texas during their golden years.
She is preceded by her husband; a daughter, Beverly Harvey; and a sister, Alice Wilcox.
She is survived by three children, Arlene Cron, Galynne (Bill) Chapman; Terry (Linda) Hoy, all of De Soto; three sisters, Ada Page, of CA, Helen Millard, of WA, and Louise Reed, of OR; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Christian Church in Adel.
