GEORGE KILROY Obituary

George Francis Kilroy died May 6, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center. A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Westover Funeral Home with a 5 p.m. vigil service. Cremation rites will be accorded after visitation.

George was born in Chicago, IL on April 21, 1927. He was a salesman most of his life. George was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was a grateful member of A. A. for 42 years, the Whitehouse was like a second home to him. We are so grateful for his many friends. George was on the Pittsburg Steeler football team in the late 40's. He enjoyed car races of all kinds. He and Peggy used to belong to several camping groups.

George is survived by his wife, Peggy of Urbandale; daughter, Linda Nuzum of Des Moines; sons, Michael (Cheryl) Kilroy of Columbus, Ohio, James Kilroy and Thomas Kilroy both of Illinois; three stepsons, Michael (Pat) Crum of Des Moines, Mark (Kathy) Crum and Tom Crum of Urbandale; three grandchildren, Michael, Tim and Erik; four great grandchildren of Columbus, Ohio; two step-grandchildren, Cathy Crum of Des Moines and Gina Crum of Urbandale and a sister-in-law, Nancy Prall of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Genevieve; his first wife, Virginia; a brother, Kenneth and his wife, Herma; father and mother-in-law, Harry and Gertrude Frohwein and brother-in-law, Ed Prall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family.
