GUY OWEN BAUER, age 69, of Norwalk, entered into rest on November 22, 2015, surrounded by family members at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

The family will be present to receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, November 27th followed by a Funeral Mass at 4 p.m. and a reception at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Norwalk. Guy was born on June 11, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from North High School in 1964. In 1966, he was united in marriage to Barbara Catterson and to this union he had two children, Troy and Christy. In 2005, he was married to Susan King, and together they made their home in Des Moines, moving to Norwalk in 2014. Over the years, Guy has held positions working for Ford Motor Company, Massey Ferguson, Schnell Automotive and Accurate Development. Guy always enjoyed making people happy and his smile and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

Guy loved classic, customized cars and was a member of the Good Guys Rod and Custom Association. He looked forward to every 4th of July for the Good Guys Car show at the fairgrounds in Des Moines. He also loved his Harley and enjoyed riding around Iowa with his fellow riders. Guy among other things, was an avid Hawkeye fan and loved to watch the games with family. He loved entertaining guests and was known by his friends and family to always cook up a mean steak and salmon on the grill. However, he was infamous for always trying to make new and crazy food concoctions in the kitchen that might not have always gone over as well. Guy also tolerated world travel with his travel agent wife, Sue, and many family members and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 10 years, Sue "Sam"; his son, Troy (Tracy) and daughter, Christy (Craig) Cory; his grandchildren, Gage, Blake, Jimmy and Cole; his brothers Vernon, Delbert and Bill; nieces and nephews, many wonderful friends; and especially his four-legged girls, Abbie and Miss Daisy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert & Rita, his brother John, and his sisters Barbara, Leanna and Clarita.
