Herman W. Chambers

Bremen, GA

Herman W. Chambers, age 88, of Bremen, Georgia formerly of Urbandale, Iowa passed away

Friday, December 12, 2014. He was born and raised in Bremen, son of the late David Comer

Chambers and Fannie Darcus Hobbs Chambers. Mr. Chambers was employed by the Sewell

Manufacturing Company in Bremen, Where he worked as a salesman in Iowa. He and his family

moved to Urbandale, where they resided until 2008 when his wife, Mary Ethelene Chambers

passed away. He was, also, preceded in death by a son, Greg Chambers, two sisters and two

brothers. Mr. Chambers was a member of the Bremen First United Methodist Church and a

veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in World War II.

Survivors include his son, Keith Chambers of Bremen formerly of Urbandale and two sisters,

Betty Jo Farmer of Houma, LA and Faye McBrayer of Bremen, GA.

Services were Tuesday, December 16 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Hightwer Funeral Home

with Reverend Gerald Varner and Dr. Terrell McBrayer officiating. Nephews and friends served

as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. Interment followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with

Masonic Rites

Hightower Funeral Home of Bremen was in charge of the arrangements.
