Howard Nagozruk Obituary

Former Alaskan Howard M. Nagozruk, 71, died March 11, 2008, at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Memorial Chapel with burial at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Nagozruk was born Nov. 24, 1936, in Nash Harbor. He attended high school in Nome and Alaska Methodist University. Before leaving Alaska in the late 1960s, he lived in Nash Harbor, Napakiak, Noatak, Point Hope, Wales and Nome.
Mr. Nagozruk worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Nome and AT&T in Chicago for 30 years before he retired.
He was a member of the Methodist church in Nome.
His family wrote: "Howard left home to pursue education and jobs in San Francisco and Chicago. He retired from AT&T as a technician.
He married Sally, and together they raised five children.
"He was always kind and friendly," his family wrote.
Mr. Nagozruk is survived by his daughters, Brenda Francis and Debbie Rosario; sons, Tony Luciano, Angelo Rosario and Arthur Nagozruk, all of Chicago; brothers, Elmer Nagozruk of Wasilla and Gordon Nagozruk of Nome; sisters, Evelyn Hendrickson of Anchorage and Margaret Trigg of Nome; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Arrangements were with Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
