Joshua Barker Obituary
Winterset
Joshua Lee Barker was born July 15, 1982 in Des Moines, Iowa to his parents Charlie and Joni Barker. He passed away on January 6, 2015. Josh was the first of three children and the much loved son, brother, nephew and grandson to many family members. Josh attended and graduated from East High School in Des Moines where he had many friends and participated in baseball and and swimming in his school years. He moved to Winterset, Iowa where his parents now live. Josh had a great love for farm animals and will be sorely missed by his dog, Duke. He helped his mother with farm work, helped his dad to keep cars and trucks and motorcycles running, and his sisters depended upon his great physical strength to help move from place to place. He had a great smile and an easy laugh, taking life day by day. His greatest love and joy was his son Jett Lee Barker, now 23 months old. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Joshua is survived by his son Jett Lee Barker of Winterset, Iowa; his parents Charlie and Joni Barker of Winterset, Iowa; his sisters Jessica Barker of Des Moines and Jennifer Barker of Des Moines; his grandmother Pat Manson Oxenford of West Des Moines, Iowa and his aunts, uncles, and cousins living in and around Iowa. Joshua is preceded in death by his grandparents Charles and "Jean" of Bloomfield, Iowa and his grandfather Walter Manson of Waukee, Iowa.
Funeral Service will be held at Brooks Funeral, 2135 SW 9th Street, Des Moines at 2:00pm, Sunday, January 10, 2016
