Windsor Heights
June Lea Glaser, 81, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Hospice Kavanagh House. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 26, at St. Augustin Catholic Church. Cremation will follow services and private inurnment will be in Fort Dodge at a later date.
June was born October 30, 1933 in Rutland, Iowa, daughter of Archie and Myrtle Cook. She was raised in Fort Dodge and attended Corpus Christi Catholic School where she met her future husband, James Glaser and graduated in 1951. June attended Clarke College before she and James were married in 1954. They lived in several towns throughout the Midwest before moving to Urbandale in 1967, where they raised their family. June was an investment advisor at First Mid America, later worked as the office manager for Glaser Lawn Care and operations manager for Glaser Mortgage Corporation. She was an avid reader and active member at St. Augustin Catholic Church. Family was the focus of June's life.
June is survived by her husband of 60 years, James Glaser, her children, James W. (Jeanne) Glaser of Des Moines, Martha (Chris) Adams of Franklin, TN, Mark Glaser of West Des Moines, Jonathan (Cheryl) Glaser of West Des Moines, Phillip (Katharina) Glaser of Des Moines, and Paul Glaser of Urbandale; her siblings, Jane DeLahunt of Henderson, NV, Jerry (Earlene) Cook of Carmel, IN, Joan (Maris) Doster, Jon (Helen) Cook and Judith (David) O'Leary, all of Fort Dodge and Jackson (Mary) Cook of Stratford; 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. June was preceded in death by parents, her grandson, James Christopher Adams, her brother, James Cook and her sister, Jean Marie Beer.
The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday at Iles-Dunn's Chapel where a vigil service and rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustin's School Foundation or Dowling Catholic High School Foundation. Thank you for this reminder of my sweet Aunt June, who was very dear to me. I remember how excited she was when I told her I was pregnant! Family truly was so important to June and I learned many things from her, including how to make a crust less quiche! Her meals were always the best and the most sophisticated!!

June and Jim were my very good neighbors in Windsor Heights. June was a very gentle and sweet lady. They would hold Christmas parties each year which brought the neighbors on our street together for fun and laughter.

I was just thinking of my dear Aunt June the other day and wishing I had seen her and Uncle Jim before she passed away. She was a positive and joyful influence in my life and a gracious hostess--I always loved her meals!
