Katelyn Gabus Obituary
Adel
Katelyn M. Gabus, 22, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 18, 2014, in Adel. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service honoring Katelyn's life was held at Iles Westover Chapel in Des Moines, for her family. Private committal services will take place at a later date.
Katelyn was born on September 5, 1991, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Gene and Lynne (Randolph) Gabus. She was a 2010 graduate of Van Meter High School in Adel. Katelyn had attended the University of Iowa. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her parents, Gene and Lynne Gabus of Adel; sister, Kelsey Gabus of Adel; maternal grandparents, Frank and Barbara Randolph of Des Moines; and a host of extended family members. Katelyn was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charles and Frances Gabus.

I miss you so much girl. Tell Anna I miss her so much too and save me a spot amongst the angels by you two beautiful girls. You were such a great friend, Katelyn. I miss you so much more everyday. Seriously... Everyday since going to your van meter candlelighting has gotten harder to move on knowing I can never text you again to hear your wise advice. You've never been wrong when giving me advice and you've always been such an amazingly warm hearted person. I didn't take your advice and my life crumbled before my eyes once you left Iowa city for California. I missed you since the day you left until now. And since you passed I now have a hole in my heart to match the sadness I've felt since you left in November. I love you so much and I can't wait to join you someday with a carton of Turkish royals, a pack of coca cola, and as much energy as I can load up on to prepare for how hard you will have me laughing.
