Kenneth Minear Obituary
Des Moines - Kenneth Lee Minear, 63, passed away July 27, 2018. He was born on May 18, 1955 to parents, O. Lee and Mary (Jones) Minear in Des Moines, Iowa where he lived most of his life.
Kenn was a self-taught computer programmer who began his career at Younkers and currently worked at CenturyLink in IT customer service. He enjoyed all genres of music, watching vintage movies and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He was an avid reader who enjoyed American History and mystery novels; he valued friendship and had a kind and gentle spirit.
Kenn is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Scott) Alongi; grandchildren, Collin, Sofia, Lilliana and Dominic; mother, Mary Ella Minear; siblings, Mary Beth Cavert and Mark Minear; niece, Elizabeth and nephew, William; former wife, Kay Minear; several aunts, including Betty Atwood and an uncle, Lowell Jones. He was preceded in death by his father, O. Lee Minear.
A celebration of Kenn's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Iles Westover Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be at the Union Chapel Cemetery in Ira, Iowa. Online condolences are welcome at www.IlesCares.com. Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of donor's choice.
