Indianola

Kevin Dean Putney, age 55, passed away on January 4, 2014. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 9th from 3 to 8 p.m. with family present from 4 to 8 p.m.at the First United Methodist Church in Indianola, IA. The service will be held on Friday, January 10th at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Burial with his late wife Jane Ann Putney will be at Hewitt Cemetery in White Oak Township.

Kevin graduated from Indianola High School continuing his education at DMACC and Missouri Auction School. He was very active in the communityincluding support for organizations such as FFA and 4-H. He has been an auctioneer in Warren County since 1976. His generosity and giving spirit has greatly impacted many people and organizations.

He is survived by his two sons, Mark and Curt Putney; father Darrell (Juanita) Putney; sisters Bobette (Todd) Miller and Donya (Karl) Hayes; sister in-law Julie (Greig) Jones; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Jane Putney and his mother Betty (Foust) Putney.

One of my favorite antiques was purchased at a Putney auction. He was an honest auctioneer and a stand up guy. How sweet he was to Kenny spoke volumes about his character.

I was so saddened by the loss of Kevin Putney and he will be missed by the whole community, Jeff and I got to know his sweet and friendliness and enjoyed going to auctions to see him and his ability in that place.
