Marjorie Helm Obituary
Pleasant Hill - Marjorie Helm, 86 of Des Moines passed away Monday January 4, 2021 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard and daughter Cathy.
Marjorie was born to George and Marie Dressic on August 28, 1934. One of 12 children. She married Richard Helm and put down roots in NE Des Moines. They had 5 children together: Bobbie Sue Frueh (Robert,) Rick Helm (Lori,) David Helm (Shelly,) Kevin Helm (Jan,) and Cathy Ann Flaherty.
Margie loved her big family, which included 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Singing 'You are my sunshine,' while rocking each of them, and making them her secret homemade recipes are some of the fond things they remember her for.

I worked with Marjorie at Goodwill Industries in the late 80's, early 90's. Although I was her supervisor, she was more mine, showing me the ins and outs of how things operated at Goodwill.
She was funny and thoughtful. She loved Bingo and once won a car playing Bingo.
Years after I'd left Goodwill I received a magazine photo of one of our horses she had found working and had taken the time to send to me.
Marjorie was a beautiful, thoughtful, funny person. She will be missed.
