Mary Woolums Obituary
Des Moines - Mary Kathryn "Kay" Woolums, 87, died Wednesday, August 1, 2018, in Des Moines.
Kay was born October 27, 1930, in Fairfield, Iowa to Carl and Bessie (Wilson) Edmund. She was raised in the Packwood, Iowa area. She married Wray Woolums on December 31, 1948. She lived in Fairfield, Iowa for the majority of her life, then Keosauqua, Iowa, prior to moving to Des Moines to be closer to family. She was employed as a bookkeeper during her working years. She enjoyed reading and playing solitaire.
She is survived by her sons, Dennis Woolums of Des Moines and Gary Woolums of Melbourne, Australia; grandchildren, Karen (Jeff) Schulman of Vernon Hills, IL, Todd (Kim) Woolums of Des Moines, and Sean Woolums of Melbourne, Australia; great-grandchildren, Andrew Schulman, Brynnly Woolums, Connor Schulman and Zoe Woolums.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Wray, parents, and three sisters.
Kay's body has been gifted to the University of Iowa Hospital. There will be no services held.
