MAXINE B. MCFADDEN

Maxine B. McFadden, 83, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Bishop Drumm Care Center in Johnston, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at St. Mary of Nazareth Catholic Church in Des Moines. Burial will be 2 p.m., Wednesday at Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City.
Maxine was born September 29, 1925 in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Alexander and Bessie (Boyce) McCabe. She moved from Sioux City to Des Moines in 1954. Maxine retired from Equitable of Iowa in 1982 where she was a secretary for 27 years. She was a member of St. Mary of Nazareth Catholic Church. Maxine loved her family dearly and was always looking out for the needs of others.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bishop Drumm Care Center and Iowa Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Maxine.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James L. McFadden; and brother, Donald McCabe. She is survived by her son, James K. McFadden of Des Moines; granddaughter, Chelsi McFadden of Des Moines; grandson, Conner Roth of Granger; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, at Iles Funeral Homes - Westover Chapel, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Hospice.
