Michael (Mike) Lynn Kiester

Altoona

Michael (Mike) Lynn Kiester, 73, of Altoona, passed away Wednesday, September 27th, at Taylor Hospice Care in Des Moines.

Mike was born December 16, 1943, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He graduated from Altoona High School and received his Teaching Degree from William Penn University. Mike is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary (Tokheim); two sons, Todd (Cindy) of Clinton and Tyler of Brownsburg, IN; four grandchildren, Jane, Claire, Trent and Summer; Brother, Mark (Karen) and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Moana and sister, Minhon Adair.

Mary, I will remember the good times we had with you and Mike. But I especially hold dear his visit to Larry and me at the time of Mom's passing. It was a whole different side of him. Take care of yourself and especially those grandkids.

Mary, I worked with you many, many years ago at the parole / probation office. You were such a warm and caring co-worker and I had the pleasure of meeting your husband Mike a couple of times. I am so sorry for your loss.
