Michael Evert Lepley, 66, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed from this life November 27, 2014. He went peacefully, at home, surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife Jane, his mother Helen, his brother Robert, his daughter Chelsea, and his stepchildren Kevin Keith, Melissa Peckosh (Keith) and Ryan Keith. He is also survived by seven grandchildren Mikayla, Joshua, Emily, Courtney, Ella, Jack and Anna and by nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father Robert and his son Michael.
Mike was born January 22, 1948 to Robert and Helen Lepley (Larkerbrink). He attended North High School and Iowa State University. He worked for the US Postal Service for 35 years, until his retirement. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Urbandale. His hobbies included traveling with his wife Jane, fishing and other outdoor activities, and attending his grandkids' games and activities.
Services will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Family will begin greeting friends at 1:00 p.m. with memorial service scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. Burial of cremated remains will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The family extends sincere thanks to those who offered support during Mike's final months, including Mercy Hospice, and suggests memorial contributions to Camp Hertko Hollow in Des Moines, Iowa.
