Michael Murray Obituary
Des Moines - Michael Patrick Murray, 82, of Trinity Center @ Luther Park, Des Moines, joined his Lord in Heaven on December 30, 2017. A funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Church from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 4 with a 7 p.m. vigil to follow.
Michael was born May 5, 1935, graduated from Dowling High School and married Maxine Beatrice (Smith) Murray on May 8, 1954. He was most proud of his Catholic faith and family. He had a passion for cars, valued hard work and was able to bring all of these things together to build a legacy for his family known as Murray Motors Inc.
Michael is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maxine; five children, Debra (Steve), Tim (Tina), Mark (Jean), Steve and Joan Murray; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Wanda Murray; siblings, Mary Kay and Denny; and two sons, Joseph and Brian Murray.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Church or as permanent keepsakes for the family.

To Maxine and family,
It was my true joy to work with Mike and Maxine
at Trinity Center in Des Moines.
I have met most of their children and grandchildren and the "General" (Maxine) should be proud of all of them.
To you Michael, my friend and fellow car buff, I wish you there words.
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warmly on your face
and rains fall soft upon your fields
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
