I remember on a warm January day in the early 1980's, the family had come to our home in Anita, Iowa for a visit. I remember Tom and I went for a walk together and as we were walking Tom said to think about all the most beautiful places and times on this earth( It was a beautiful day that day). "These are nothing compared to what heaven is like. Heaven is so much more beautiful!" Those were Tom's words at that time and now Tom is celebrating in that heavenly beauty. He is home with his dear Savior Jesus.
Though we have not been close over these past years, Tom and family have always been dear to our hearts. We thank God we knew him as our brother in the Lord Jesus, and that one day we will be reunited at Jesus feet. Cathy, Tiffany and Teryl, we hold you in our hearts, our thoughts, and our prayers. We will be in further contact. We will join you virtually to celebrate Tom's life among us.
God is with you and holding you close.

I was a friend of Teryl’s growing up and when I would eat dinner at their house it drive Tom crazy when I moved my corn to the side of the plate and used my finger to sidle it up to the fork. Tom taught me to use my butter knife, thank goodness, and my table manners have vastly improved. I enjoyed running into Tom and Cathy as an adult at the Altoona Campus and here and there. They were a wonderful couple and I’m so sorry for Cathy, Teryl, Tiffany, and their families for their tragic loss.

Tom was a wonderful man. I knew him as a friend and a Christian brother. Over many years, his heart was always pure and focused on the needs of others. His family and circle of friends will miss him, his smile, his optimism and his quick laugh. He has made a difference here on earth.

I am so sorry to hear about Tom's passing.
I worked with him on some building projects for Wells Fargo.
He was a great guy and a pleasure to get to know.
My deepest sympathy to his wife and family.
May your memories give you comfort.
