Richard Franzen Obituary
Lovilia
Richard "Rick" Lee Franzen, age 63, of Lovilia, died on September 22, 2016 at his residence in Lovilia. He was born on November 13, 1952 in Albia, Iowa to Harold and Madelon (Gladson) Franzen.
He graduated from Albia High School, class of 1970. He married Mary Louise Campbell, and to this union they were blessed with two children, Victoria and Angela. Rick and Mary later divorced. He was a truck driver, and he drove for DJ Franzen trucking until his retirement in 2005.
He is a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lovilia. He enjoyed looking at cars, golfing, going to Florida to see his brother, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his two daughters, Victoria (Aron) Elder of Runnells, Angela Gilson of Altoona, four grandchildren, Tyler and Trevor Elder, Ela and Mya Gilson, brother, Denny (Linda) Franzen of Altoona, Doris Little of Albia, significant other of over twenty years, sister-in-law, Nancy Franzen of Lovilia, nieces and nephews, Marty Franzen, Jamey Franzen, Patricia Beasley, Lisa Acord, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Madelon (Gladson) Franzen, brother, Hal Franzen, and 1st wife, Mary Pettorini.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2016 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lovilia with Father Mark Yates C.PP.S. officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Sinnott Funeral Home, Gilbert Chapel in Lovilia, opening to the public at 1:00 p.m., and family will be present from 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening. Memorials may be directed to the Lovilia Community Building. Online Condolences may be left for the family at sinnottfuneralhome.com
