Richard E. Nahas, 74, passed away at his home on March 8, 2009. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Iles Funeral Homes- Westover Chapel. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Richard was born in Des Moines and was a lifelong resident. He was a US Army veteran and member of the Young Phoenicians Club of Des Moines. Richard owned and managed income properties in Des Moines. He enjoyed yardwork and his grandson's activities.
He will be missed by his wife of 45 years, Carol; sons, Rick (Linda) and John; sister, Sandra (Robert) Whisenand and his grandsons, Logan and Alec all of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Mary, daughter, Lisa and brother, Leroy. Memorials may be made to St. Theresa Catholic Church or Windsor United Methodist Church.
