ROGER "ROG" GILMAN

Roger Lee Gilman, 63, of Eau Claire, WI; died peacefully at his home on January 5, 2009.
Born August 8, 1945 to Everett and Mabel (Boyle) Gilman in Earlham, IA.
He attended Earlham Consolidated/Community School and graduated high school in 1963.
After graduation, he moved to Des Moines, IA and worked for Hy-Line.
He was drafted into the Army in 1964 and served in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967.
After an honorable discharge, he returned to Des Moines and worked for Patzig Laboratories and then Nabisco Food Products.
He moved to Eau Claire in 1975 as part of a work transfer and continued to work for Nabisco until 1997. He then went to work at Badger West Wine and Spirits as a sales representative where he remained employed until his death.
Roger was preceeded in death by his parents.
Roger is survived by his two daughters, Jaala (Gabe) Knowlton and Jill (Jason) Siikarla; six grandchildren, and three siblings, Pat Greenwell of Sun City, AZ, Beverly (Gordon) Powell of Des Moines and Marlin Gilman of Earlham and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Stokes, Prock and Mundt Funeral Chapel with a Memorial Service at 5:30 p.m.
A visitation will also be held in Earlham, IA on January 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Earlham Community Center.
A private burial will take place in the Spring in Earlham, IA at Penn Center Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred and can be sent to the funeral home at 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway - Altoona, WI. 54720.
