Roland Simpson Obituary
Wall Lake
Roland G. Simpson, 97, died at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake, IA on April 11, 2017. Roland, formerly of Des Moines and Lake View, IA, is survived by daughters, Shelley (David) Hundling, Breda, IA; Roberta Simpson-Dolbeare (Eric), Nebo, IL; and son, Brad (Angela) Simpson of Ely, NV, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil (Burt) Simpson, on Nov. 26, 2012. A visitation will be held at Lakes United Methodist Church, Lake View, IA on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Mr. Simpson deeded his body to the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. The family suggests memorials to Twilight Acres Nursing Home, Wall Lake, IA; Lakes United Methodist Church, Lake View, IA; or the Lake View Public Library, Lake View, IA. I'm sorry I won't be with my Simpson brother & sisters on Saturday, but you know my heart is always with you guys. I love keeping up with you on Facebook ( not including Brad's jokes) but just feel really sad that almost all of our parents & their friends are gone. Once in a while George Ann Snider ( Lage) stops into the office to chat & pay her insurance......always fun memories of Clear Lake & Strawberry Point. Our parents were all awesome & it's sad that it takes so long to figure that out. Love you guys & my thoughts & prayers are with you everyday
