Rowena Miller Obituary
Carlisle
Rowena Bernice (Lambert) Miller was born on September 14, 1937 and died peacefully at her home on May 31, 2017 at age 79. She graduated from Redding High School in 1955 and married Harold Miller on June 22, 1958. During their 57 year marriage they raised four children. Mrs. Miller was retired from the former Diamond Laboratory and Wells Fargo Card Services. Rowena was a 50 year member and Past Worthy Matron of the Carlisle O.E.S. chapter and an advisory board member of Southgate Order of Rainbow for Girls. Since 1963, when she and Harold relocated their young family to Carlisle, she was a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church. Mrs. Miller was a president of the Carlisle Lioness Chapter and member of the Carlisle High School Football Booster Club. Mrs. Miller is survived by daughters Kimberly (Dr. Conway) Chin of the Quad Cities; Regina (Brian) Hutchison of Urbandale and a son, Douglas Miller of Palmer Alaska; siblings, Mary Lou(Galen)Cook, Nona Ann Bain, Calvin(Shirley)Lambert, Keith(Mary Kay)Lambert, Gary Lambert and sister in law Doris Monday. Additionally she is survived by grandchildren: Jade Miller, Shadoe Miller, Chase Miller, Hannah Chin, Hunter Miller, Mason Chin, Quentin Hutchison, Jaxson Miller and Lena Miller. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren: Lila Miller and Oliver Miller. Preceding Mrs. Miller in death were her parents Owen and Lennis Lambert; son Steven Miller; husband Harold Miller, brother Kenneth Lambert and brother-in-law Richard Bain. Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm Sunday June 4 at Peterson's Funeral Home in Carlisle, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday June 5, 2017 at the Carlisle United Methodist Church in Carlisle, Iowa. Online condolences may be made at www.petersonfuneralservice.com
