Ruby Ann Millard, 93, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 4, 2013, in Des Moines. She was born June 13, 1920, in Cincinnati, Iowa the daughter of John and Pearl Robbins.
Family was Ruby's greatest joy. She loved gospel music; both singing and listening; going to town and lunch with the girls; making her family's favorite blackberry cobbler; bible reading and prayer meetings with her family. The foundation of Ruby's life was her strong faith in God.
Ruby is survived by her children, Pat (Don) Gibbs, Gary (Lynda ) Millard, Pam (Jesse) Lara and Jim (Laura) Millard ; grandchildren, Don and Jeff Reeves, Lisa Cornell, Ferrall Burgett, Kim Manders, Lori Hoffman, Shari Millard-Ballinger, Jessica O'Keeffe, Russell Lara, Brianna and Courtney Millard; 21 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Vivian Hastie, Shirley Davidson and Jerry Robbins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; children, Floyd Russell, Joyce Ann, Carol Sue, and Karen Reeves; her parents; and siblings, Ora Ellis, Goldie Gillum, Jack, Dave, Charles, Raymond, Albert, George and Johnny Robbins.
Funeral services will be 10 am, Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at New Hope Assembly of God, 4425 70th Street, Urbandale. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 4 to 7 pm, Monday, September 9, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Bethany New Life Christian Fellowship Building Fund in loving memory of Ruby.

To The Ruby Ann Millard Family.
My name is Mrs.Ealy...I never met Ruby
but just loss my sister in death. And
seeing Ruby Obituary as a person I just
wanted to write my sincere condolences
to the family...I hope one day all
people can just draw together and love
each other. And Seeing Ruby picture and her beautiful smile, well It touch
