Sally Orr Obituary
West Des Moines
Sally Ann Orr, 59, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. A Memorial Service in her honor will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11 am at the Faith Lutheran Church, 10395 University Ave in Clive. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service at the Church. Her cremated remains will be buried next to her parents at the Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery inWaterloo Iowa at 3 pm.
Sally is survived by her husband, Doug, three sons, Zachariah (Missy) Bonnette of Elkader, Jesse (Shelby) Bonnette of Urbandale, Anthony (Shelby) Orr of Des Moines, two sisters, Pam Moen of Adel, Cindy (Dean) Thede of Waterloo, a brother, Pete (Lupita) Kinstler of Des Moines, and three grandchildren Noa Opal-Ikonah Bonnette, Christian James Orr and Trey Robert James Bonnette. She was preceded in death by her parents, James & Betty Kinstler. Memorial may be directed to Faith Lutheran Church.

I didn't know her very well, but I do know that she gave cancer one courageous battle!!! I also know she had a crazy sense of humor that she handed down to her son Jesse (my son-in-law) and for that I am very grateful. He is the son I never had! I can never pretend to take her place in his life but I will love him for her until we see her again!!!

I am sorry to read about Sally's passing in today's newspaper. Sally was among those who welcomed me to the Faith Lutheran Church community over seven years ago. She inspired me to make friends and to get involved with the various activities at our church ever since that time. I am grateful for her example and friendship.
My thoughts and prayers are with Sally's family and her friends.

This is such a shock. We were together all the time in grade school. You could hear the moans of teachers when they had us both in class! So much fun! We rode bikes everywhere, especially to Byrnes Park. My prayers and thoughts are with all the family! Thanks for good memories!
