Stephen Roquet Obituary
Des Moines - Stephen Craig Roquet, 67, of Des Moines, IA, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 11, 2018.
Steve was born to Donald Dwight and Ione (Runyon) Roquet on March 12, 1951 in Des Moines, IA. He graduated from Hoover High School in 1969. He also attended Des Moines Area Community College and Iowa State University.
Steve was an Air Force veteran and an Air Traffic Controller with the Federal Aviation Administration until 1981.
Steve worked as the General Manager of Operations with TMC Transportation, President of Southport Carriers, Director of Human Resources with Corporate Communications, President of Bullwhacker.com and President of Team Leader Inc. prior to retiring.
Steve loved his family, enjoyed people, dogs, music, woodworking, detailing cars and was an avid Hawkeye fan. He will be remembered for his giving heart and willingness to help others. He had a strong work ethic and strived to be the best that he could be.
He was preceded in death by his father Dwight and a brother Gregory.
Steve is survived and will be greatly missed by his mother Ione, two sisters; Michelle "Shellie" (Jeff) Lang and Janelle (Jeff) Schultz, nephews; Michael (Kayla) Lang, Douglas (Allision) Lang, Matthew Schultz and Adam Roquet, nieces; Jessica Schultz and Amanda (Joe) Gradzewicz, a great nephew Jackson Lang and great niece Amelia Gradzewicz and many special cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018 followed by a Memorial Service and Military Rites at the Iles Westover Funeral Home.
Memorials may be directed to the Glen Echo Christian Church or the family.

I was very fortunate to have Steve Roquet as my best friend in high school and for the rest of his life! His family got so use to me waiting for him to go out, that they invited me in for meals and family conversations through our high school years. Steve was a very proud man and he was so very proud of his family theres nothing he wouldnt do for them! My deepest condolences to the family and thank you so much for all your hospitality. May Steve Rest In Peace! I just hope he saves a place for me on the other side so we can run together again as in the good old days! God Bless and Thank You Steve Roquet!!!
