Steven Sutter

Overland Park, KS

Steven P Sutter, 52, of Overland Park KS, passed away and went into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at home after fighting a four year battle with Colon Cancer. He was born July 8,1960 in Waco, TX. Steve attended Ames High School and Des Moines Area Community College. He worked most of his life in the plumbing industry. In 2002 he went into partnership to form Hodes and Sutter, Inc, a manufacturers representative company. Steve was a devoted catholic member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Thomas Sutter and grandparents. Steve is survived by his wife Cynthia Sutter, and their three children, Ryan, Matthew and Megan. Mother; Marjorie (Harl) Sutter, brother, Dennis (LuAnn) Sutter, sisters; Linda Sutter, Rebecca (Jim) Daniels, Carol (Scott) Weber, and several nieces and nephews.

Steve was a loving husband and was devoted to his family. We love you Dad and will miss you dearly.

The Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m., Friday July 20, followed by a visitation until 8 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 11300 W. 103rd Overland Park KS, 66214. The Mass of Christian burial will be 9 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Story Memorial Gardens in Ames, IA at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to The University of Kansas Hospital Cancer Center Attn: Fund Development Suite 302, 2330 Shawnee Mission Parkway Westwood, KS 66205. I went to high school with Steve. He was always quick with a smile and I admired the way he took care of his Trans Am...I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I will look forward to seeing his big smile in Heaven. Praying for peace and understanding in this time of hurt...
