William Hargis Obituary
Woodbury - William Hargis entered eternity to receive his new life through Jesus and be reunited with his soulmate Joan, on April 10, 2018. Preceded in death by his wife, Joan; mother, Beverly. Survived by his sons, Peter (Amy), Mark (Jennie); father, George; grandchildren Mateo, Luke, Emilia, J Thomas, Paul; step-grandchildren Autumn, Crimzon, Corianda; siblings, Pamela (David) Hargis, Jo Ellen (Todd) Hargis, Jeffrey Hargis and many loving relatives and friends. Bill was Mayor of Woodbury 1993-2010, volunteer Assistant Coach and benefactor of Bethel Baseball, member of Woodbury Community Church, founded Woodbury Prayer Breakfast, founding member of the Woodbury Community Foundation, Metropolitan Council Advisory Board member, Habitat for Humanity Person of The Year 2006, MN Care Providers Caregiver of the Year 1986, Woodbury Citizen of the Year 2003, HOF inductee Woodbury HS Athletic Dept., lifelong Hawkeye fan, supported countless other charitable organizations within and around the Woodbury community. Bill was a devoted grandfather, coach, mentor, friend, and faithful follower of Jesus. Funeral service 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 18 at King of Kings Lutheran Church (1583 Radio Dr. Woodbury). Visitation 3-8 PM, Tuesday, April 17, at Woodbury City Hall (8301 Valley Creek Rd). Interment, Woodbury Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to: Bethel University Baseball, Woodbury High School Football, Woodbury Community Church, or Woodbury Prayer Breakfast. Arrangements O'Halloran and Murphy-Woodbury Funeral Home (651-702-0301).
