Des Moines
William John Kieler, 77, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines.
William was born January 27, 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Hildreth (Hohl) Kieler. He served in the Army, was employed by Des Moines Water Works, and was a member of Southgate Lodge #657. He loved woodworking, was a history buff, and an avid reader.
William is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; children, John Kieler, Laura (Michael) Boring, and Mike (Amanda) Kieler; two granddaughters; three great-granddaughters; sister, Lauretta (Guy) Kaplan; and brother, Rick (Kathy) Kieler.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Tom, Larry, and Michael.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with Masonic service at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday August 11, 2014 at Bloomfield United Methodist Church, 5930 Indianola Avenue, Des Moines with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Bloomfield U.M.C.

NANCY AND FAMILY SO SORRY TO HEAR OF BILL'S PASSING. EVEN THOUGH WE DIDN'T STAY IN CLOSE CONTACT BILL AND YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SPECIAL TO US AND WE WILL MISS RUNNING INTO HIM AT THE HOME IMPROVEMENT STORES IN THE AREA AND CATCHING UP ON FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
