ELIZABETH O'DONNELL Obituary

78, of Defiance, Ohio (formerly of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan), died April 26th, at the Brookview Healthcare Center, in Defiance. She was born September 23, 1929, in Bunclody, County Wexford, Ireland, the daughter of Patrick and Elizabeth (O'Brien) Doyle, who both pre ceded her in death. Following the untimely death of her mother, Elizabeth and her sisters resided in an orphanage. She graduated from nursing school in Somerset, England, and then immigrated to Ft. William, Ontario. Elizabeth later immigrated to Detroit and in March 1957 she married Dr. Charles H. O'Donnell, who preceded her in death on March 16, 1986. She was a homemaker and a registered nurse. Elizabeth is survived by her sons Michael (Sherry) of California, Dr. Philip (Linda) of Defiance, Robert (Elizabeth) of Detroit, and Hugh (Karen) of Chicago; sisters Peggy of Orlando, Florida, Mary of County Down, Northern Ireland, UK, Winifred and Ann of Somerset, UK, brothers Tom and Patrick of London, UK, and Richard of Somerset, UK; and many grandchildren, step-children, nieces and nephews. Also preceding her in death were her brothers Andrew and Timothy. Services in Defiance at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church from Mast Mock Funeral Home, with visitation Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm. Burial Noble and Tiffin Cemetery, Noble Twp., Ohio. Preferred memorials are to the Defiance College nursing program www.defiance.edu. Go dtaga do riocht. Requiescat in pace. May Thy Kingdom Come. Rest in Peace.
