West Bloomfield/ Sarasota, FL - Jerry Laevin Weiner, 80, of West Bloomfield, Michigan and Sarasota, Florida, died on March 21, 2021. Jerry embraced opportunity at every turn in life. A 50+ year legal career, an accomplished musician (trumpet and piano) and singer, talented bowler (Big Ten bowling champion, MSU '63), avid tennis player, multiple turns in local community theater and in support of various non-profit organizations. Jerry had a tremendous sense of humor and put great glee in leaving a room of people laughing following a story or witty comment. Jerry never shied away from a microphone and would quickly volunteer if hosting duties were needed, whether the audience was large or small.

Jerry was there to help if called upon by both family or friend, from near or far. He relished listening to someone's immediate challenge and extending his advice on a path forward. He was dedicated to his client's needs and goals, putting in whatever the necessary time required to achieve success.

Jerry beamed with pride at the accomplishments of his seven grandchildren and would be there for religious & school milestones, sporting events, concerts, and stage productions.

Above all else, he was most engaged as a devoted husband, father, grandfather (Papa), brother and uncle. Jerry's "uncle" duties extended beyond immediate family to the countless friends, clients and associates he amassed during his lifetime.

Jerry is survived by his soulmate and beloved wife of 57 years Karen, son Joel (Marcella) Weiner, daughter Dori Weinstein, and son A.J. (Kara) Weiner. Proud grandfather of Abe Weiner, Noah Weiner, Max Weinstein, Asa Weinstein, Jesse Weinstein, Charlie Weiner and Mollie Weiner. Born and raised in East Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jerry was the loving brother of Irving (Fran) Weiner, the devoted son of the late Jacob Weiner and the late Mollie (Laevin) Weiner.

So full of life, Jerry rarely wasted a day. While he is now so dearly missed, his presence will endure in the lives he impacted.
