JOHN HUBBARD Obituary

HUBBARD JOHN JAY, who represented Dearborn as a City Councilman (1968-1970), Dearborn City Clerk (1970-1981) and a Dearborn Charter Commissioner (2005-2007), passed away September 11 at the age of 78. He was the second youngest son of the late Dearborn Mayor Orville L. and Faye Hubbard. John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joanna (nee Denison) and children, daughters Julie A Hubbard (Dr. Jerry Colliver), Judge Susan L. Hubbard (Andrew) and son Dr. John D. Hubbard (June) and three granddaughters, Jacqueline, Elizabeth, and Leah. John is also survived by his loving sister, Dearborn Councilwoman Nancy A. Hubbard and devoted brother, James C. Hubbard as well as 10 nieces and nephews. Predeceasing him were brothers Henry F. and Frank C. Hubbard and his parents. John served in the U.S. Marine Corps (1954-1956) and 12 years with the U.S. Justice Department (1984-1996). A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 22 at 1 p.m. at the Ford Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave., Dearborn in Studio A., with interment following at Michigan Memorial Park, Huron Township. The family requests any donations be made in John's name to the Dearborn Detachment Marine Corp. League, 4131 Maple, Dearborn, MI 48126. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
