Passed away peacefully and
surrounded by her family at St
Michael's Hospital, Toronto, on
January 27, 2016, in her 84th
year. Beloved wife of Ross
Hiroshi Shin. Loving mother of
Kevin (Vivian Carter), Dale (Ian
Reid), Trevor (Anne Marie nee
Howcroft) and Allison. Dear
sister of Hank Edamura (Shirley),
May Shintani (Roy), Ray Edamura
(Caren), June Edamura (Donald
Ross) and Joanne Schroeder
(Chris). A great joy in her life
were her 7 grandchildren, Olivia,
Erin, Cameron, Kathleen, Rachel,
Cailea and Megan. We are
thankful for the wonderful
example Nana set, as the most
loving and supportive wife,
mother, mother-in-law and
grandmother. We would like to
thank the staff at St. Michael's
Hospital for the outstanding care
they provided. A special thank
you to Dr. Morris Freedman
(Baycrest Hospital), Dr. Hedy
Steinberg and Riena Sadoma
(PSW). We are forever grateful

Dear Kevin and family -- I've been thinking about Nancy all this week and remembering the times when Kevin and I, winsome high school lads, would migrate between our houses and respective mothers after school. It seems like a long time ago yet it also seems like yesterday. Those were formative times and it was important to have a listening ear. We talked about a lot of things in the Shin kitchen over tea and I will always value that time. I hope you all know that our thoughts and love are with you from far away Norway.
