Nellie Elisabeth Born: 27-June-1930 Death: 25-May-2017 It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom and Oma on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at the age of 86. Devoted wife to Harry J Rietman for 48 years, who preceded her in death in 2004. Married in February 1956 in the Netherlands, they moved to America and built a loving home in Pinckney where she resided for 47 years. She was a homemaker, gardener and bird lover. She is survived by daughters Lisa (Rietman) Litalien of Sylvania OH, Paula Rietman of Waterford MI and granddaughter Alexandria Litalien of Seattle WA. She is also survived by brothers Jac (Nelly) Brom (NZ), Frans (Rie) Brom (NL) and sisters Liesje (Cor) van der Aa-Brom (NL), Lenie (Tinus) van Gils (NL) and Riekie (Jozef) van Rooijen (NL). On 11-June-2017, the family in the Netherlands will be honoring our parents with a Memorial Service at Sint Nicolaaskerk in Valkenswaard, which is the same church they were married. A private family memorial will be held at Washtenong Memorial Park in Ann Arbor where her ashes will be placed next to our Dad. In kindness, donations may be made to Great Lakes Caring-Hospice. I met Mrs. Rietman when I was friends with Lisa in school. Her house was immaculate and her garden was beautiful. Not a weed in sight. She took great pride in that. Always working doing something whenever I was over there. Always treated me with kindness. Great lady. Mr. Rietman was as well.
