STEVEN HOWE Obituary

of Chandler, AZ, but forever a Michigan man, died Friday, April 28, 2006 at the age of 48. Steve is survived by his wife, Cyndi and his loving children, Chelsi (Cole) Blackwell and Brian Howe. He was the beloved son of Virgil and Barbara Howe; dear brother of Christopher (Kimberly) Howe, Jeffery (Marilou) Howe and Michael (Jennifer) Howe. Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Szymanski and his grandparents, Virgil (Geneva) Howe, Stuart Jones and Muriel Kage. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Steve graduated from Clarkston High School, where he helped lead the baseball team to the Class A State Championship in 1976; He was an All American player at the University of Michigan and played Major League Baseball for 16 years with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers and the New York Yankees. Steve was the 1980 NL Rookie of the Year. A celebration of Steve's life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at Clarkston High School, 6093 Flemings Lake Road, Clarkston, MI with Father Chris Berg officiating. The family requests donations to the Steve Howe Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 463, Clarkston,MI 48347-0463. Memorial reflections can be e-mailed to [email protected]. Arrangements have been entrusted to the HURON STREET CHAPEL of the Huntoon Funeral Home, Pontiac,MI.
