Aileen Neil Obituary

Aileen Agnes Welch Neil, beloved wife, sister, daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, in Fort Worth at the age of 84. Fr. Tom Stabile, T.O.R., will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 3304 Dryden Road, followed by interment in Greenwood Memorial Park. The rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Thursday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole followed by visitation until 7 p.m. Gifts may be sent to the Carmelite Nuns, 5801 Mount Carmel Drive, Arlington 76017; St. Andrew Catholic Church, 3314 Dryden Road, Fort Worth 76109; or your charity of choice. A second-generation native and lifelong resident of Fort Worth, Aileen was born Oct. 11, 1931, the daughter of James Blaine and Agnes Theresa Eagan Welch. Aileen was a graduate of Paschal High School in 1949 and attended Texas Christian University where she earned a bachelor of science degree in 1952, and a certificate of completion from The TCU Ranch Management Program in 1976. In 1982, she received the designation of certified financial planner from the College of Financial Planning in Denver, Colo. Aileen was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Tarrant County Medical Society Auxiliary (Alliance), Auxiliary to the Carmelite Nuns and the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Selfless, private and humble, Aileen lived a prayerful life of service to the Catholic church and her family. Aileen was married on Aug. 8, 1953, to Dr. William H. Neil, who preceded her in death in 1972. Aileen is survived by sons, James R. Neil of Kerrville and William H. Neil Jr. and wife, Karen, of Aledo; daughters, Mary N. Watson of Houston and Margaret N. Riemitis and husband, Andrew, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Amy E. Riemitis, Emilie Watson Dunn and husband, Erik, William H. Neil III, Alissa M. Watson, Ashley E. Riemitis and Julie A. Neil; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn F. Dunn and Olivia G. Dunn; sisters, Margaret Welch of Houston and twin, Mary W. Marshall of Conroe; sister-in-law, Maryanne N. Aman of Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
