Junior Nelson Neil, 54, passed away Monday morning, April 30, 1990 in University of Virginia Hospital.
He was born May 24, 1935 in McDowell, a son of William and Margaret (Bishop) Neil. He married Lucille Hicklin on January 29, 1953.
He was a member of McDowell Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his mother and wife, both of McDowell, survivors include one daughter, Wanda N. Roberts of Burnsville; two sons, Leonard J. and Danny N. Neil, both of Burnsville; one brother, William Andrew Neil of McDowell; five grandchildren, Misty and Jennifer Roberts, Nicole, Christina and Brian Neil; and several nieces and nephews.
A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Lester LaPrade. Burial will be in Shumate Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lewis Shumate, Roscoe Bishop, Stuart, David and Bobby Neil and Grady Roberts.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
