She met and married O.B. Sandidge June 27, 1931, in Fort Worth. They lived for a short time in Amarillo, then moved to Dallas, where O.B. worked as a district manager for Burlington Railroad.
Aline later went to work for the Dallas Independent School District as a secretary until her retirement in 1979.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Northway Baptist Church.
Aline had lived at Treemont Retirement Community for 11 years.
For the past nine months, Aline had been cared for by the wonderful people of St. Michael's Hospice. They helped make her final time here very enjoyable, taking care of her daily needs. She never complained. She just accepted what life dealt her.
She was always happy to have company. Her door was never closed as friends, staff members and her family continually visited her. She kept them entertained with her quick wit and humor. While she was still in her apartment in Treemont, she would always have cold drinks and goodies to eat so when staff members came to see her, she would always have something to offer them as they sat down and had a nice visit.
All who were fortunate enough to know Aline found her to be very charming, as she would always welcome you into her home. She will be greatly missed by those she left behind.
Survivors: Nieces, Linda Orr of Cleburne, Patricia Terry of Conroe, Mary Hammer-Menzel of Houston, Sandra Regan of Mountain Home, Idaho, Phyllis Keech of Arlington, Patty Estes of Channelview, Sue Vaughn of Houston; nephew, Aubrey McClanahan Jr. of Magnolia; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and longtime devoted friends, Martha Uland and Jim McCown of Dallas. Their attention and care for Aline was given with a light and generous heart. To the end, they provided the link to her past and helped with the decisions for her care.
