Andrew Davis Obituary
Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at North Richland Hills Baptist Church, 4001 Vance Road, North Richland Hills.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Center Point Church, 7804 Mid Cities Blvd., North Richland Hills, Texas 76180.
Andrew Coleman Davis was born Nov. 11, 1986, in Fort Worth. He attended W.A. Porter Elementary and Smithfield Middle School. He was a 2005 graduate of Birdville High School. In high school he played basketball and excelled in various theatrical productions. He attended Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Okla., before returning to Texas to work. He was a customer service adviser with Huggins Honda in North Richland Hills.
Drew was many things to many people. He was a son, a brother, a grandson, a friend, a confidant, a leader and a proud Texan. He loved his family, his friends, music, cooking-eating, creating art, fishing, traveling with family and friends and the outdoors. He enjoyed working on things. It could be modifying one of his beloved cars or trucks or helping a friend install the latest car stereo or speakers.
Drew loved comedy, classic rock and all Texas music. He played guitar and bass and enjoyed figuring out songs and playing music with his friends. He devoured life with passion and wide-eyed enthusiasm. Drew was admired for his work ethic, which was a throwback to a different era. He lived his short life at full volume.
Drew was a believer in Jesus Christ, having accepted the grace and forgiveness offered by the Lord at the age of 12. His family and friends, while devastated and heart-broken, find comfort in the truth that he lives in paradise with his Savior. His loss leaves a hole in the hearts and souls of many people.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lionel Coleman.
Survivors: Parents, Kent and Lisa Davis of North Richland Hills; his brother, Jake Davis; his sister, Abby Davis; his grandparents, Don and Peggy Davis of Bedford; his grandmother, Emmie Coleman of Keller; aunt, Dana Davis of Keller; aunt and uncle, Angela and Terry Rippee of The Woodlands; cousins, Taylor Wright, Trevor Wright, Matt Rippee and Alex Rippee; and a host of friends and relatives.

I just came home from the Family Visitation; I have never seen such a tribute to one person. Lines of people wrapped around the building waiting to enter, no parking for all the cars, (CVS and Walgreen's had to help with space) and the police were there directing traffic. Oh, my! That is just such a testimony to your entire family about Drew. Emmie, we've always loved you and now we know what a legacy you've passed on to your children and grandchildren. Jesus has His arms wrapped around Drew and you. In Him.

I had very little contact with Drew but the times I was around him I thought he was a great young man. I got the pleasure of meeting Drew in middle school, and then had some classes with him in high school. I also taught Abby when she was in Kindergarten with Ready Set Teach through high school, and he would ask me how she was everyday, and what she did while I was there. He was a great big brother. Kent, Lisa, and family.............words can not discribe the saddness we feel for you. I only knew your son, from the kind words Mike Brown said about his Bass playing, and when he was little and you would bring him up to the office. Dear Kent, Lisa, Jake and Abby:
I remember when Drew, Micheal and I were running around on the playground together when we were at Porter. He was an amazing son, friend, and brother to many. Drew was just an amazing person all around. He will be very missed and will NEVER be forgotten. He was taken to the Lord way to soon but we all know he is in a better place. I couldn't believe it happened, this is such a tragic occurrence for your family to go through. My family and I send condolences to you and your family.
