Ann Hunter Obituary

Doris Ann French, a radiant soul who embraced life with joy and love, was born in Fort Worth, Texas, to Homer Lee and Mannie Bell. As the first of five girls, she stepped into a nurturing role early on, calling upon that same warmth throughout her life, making her the best mom one could ever hope for.

A true Elvis enthusiast and a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Ann's passions spanned beyond music and sports; she was also a master of sweet tea, which was a cherished delight for the neighborhood kids. Her warm heart touched everyone she met, and her ability to make people feel loved will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy.

Surrounded by her loving family, Ann transitioned peacefully on June 14, 2025, just shy of her 81st birthday, with a lifetime of beautiful memories to cherish. Known affectionately as Ann, Momma, Mom, Granny, Nanny, and Ms. Ann, she will be remembered fondly by all whose lives she graced.

She is reunited in spirit with her beloved parents, Homer and Blackie, her daughter Dixie, sisters Joyce and Candy, and her one true love, Hanley. Ann leaves behind her cherished children: Leanne Hunter of Haltom City, Russell Hunter of Euless, Jennifer Hunter, and Justin Gregg of Garland, along with a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and grand fur-babies. Each of them will carry a piece of her kindness and spirited nature in their hearts.

A celebration of Ann's life will be held this August at Colleyville Elementary, where we invite all who knew her to join in the joy she brought to this world. In lieu of flowers, consider planting a rose bush in her memory; each bloom is a reminder of her beautiful spirit and the love she shared. Let's celebrate the incredible legacy of Ann Hunter, one of unwavering love, laughter, and lasting memories!

I am so sad to hear of Ann´s passing. I knew her for about 30 years at CES. There are so many memories. Starting when I asked her to talk to my youngest when he was in kindergarten to explain his lunch account to him. When I started working there, she knew I loved sloppy joes and would be sure I had 2 because that is how many I ate. She would call and be sure I was at school on sloppy joes day. If I wasn´t, she saved me some. And she was just my friend. I love her and will miss her forever.

There are so many memories that it's hard to just tell one. Ann was a 2nd momma to me since the day I was born. She watched me when my parents worked. Ann treated me just like her own. I remember her making this chicken in a clay pot in the oven & it was the best ever. We went to garage sales alot. Ann painting several pictures and made me crafts that I still cherish today. Ann is the best 2nd MOMMA ever! I LOVE you Ann, rest in peace with Mom & Dixie.
